Homeschoolers: Embark on a Journey of Learning and Fun!

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey...

Along came a spider who sat down beside her…

EEK! A spider! shouted Lily. Spiders are … are… well, they’re just creepy crawlies and I don’t like them! They have way too many legs! And they spin webs that get stuck all over me when I walk to the park!

Lily’s big sister, Alice, giggled at her little sister. “Silly Lily! Spiders aren’t creepy crawlies! They are amazing! They spin those beautiful webs all by themselves! Did you know that spider silk is super strong? It’s even stronger than steel! And… they use those webs to catch their food! Cool huh? Alice exclaimed.

Hmm… Lily wondered. Stronger than steel?! Wow! “Hey, Alice… are you sure about that? That doesn’t even sound real.

“Yep! It’s true! Our teacher told us all about it today. It's called tensile strength… that means how much pulling a material can take before it breaks, Alice stated with authority. “Hey, how about we go to the library and get a book about spiders?! Then we can learn all about them!

“Okay,” agreed Lily. Maybe spiders aren’t so bad after all. Maybe they are even… pretty cool.

Bugs are cool and amazing?! Thanks for loving bugs too! 🐞
