! 🐝🧁
Complexity Level: 🐝 Easy Peasy (Adult assistance needed for oven use!)
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (the bee's knees of baking!)
- 1 cup sugar (sweet as honey!)
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (to give our muffins a deep, dark buzz!)
- 1 tsp baking soda (to help 'rise' to the occasion!)
- ½ tsp salt (just a pinch, like bee pollen!)
- 2 large eggs (important for that fluffy texture)
- 1 cup whole milk (the nectar of the baking gods)
- ½ cup vegetable oil (for a moist muffin!)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract (to sweeten the buzz!)
- ½ cup honey (to create our bee-tastic flavor!)
- Love and Fun: A sprinkle of your favorite giggles and a dash of happy thoughts!
Fun Bee-Muffin Decorations:
- Yellow frosting or icing (because bees are more than buzz!)
- Mini chocolate dots or sprinkles (to make it bee-utiful!)
Instructions:
1. Preheat That Hive!
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to create the buzz zone for your muffins!
2. Mix the Dry Ingredients
- In a big mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Give it a good whisk until combined. (Make a buzzing sound while you do it!)
3. Whisk the Wet Ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and honey. It should be a lovely golden mix that even Queen Bee would approve of!
4. Combine the Swarm
- Slowly add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix; we want our muffins to rise like happy bees buzzing around!
5. Pour into Muffin Liners
- Line a muffin tin with liners and fill each one about ¾ full with batter. It should look like a little hive of deliciousness waiting to bake!
6. Bake ‘Em Up
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. (Keep your eyes peeled—don't open the oven door too soon, or you might let the bees escape!)
7. Cool and Decorate
- Let your muffins cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack. Once cool, you can decorate them with yellow frosting and mini chocolate dots for that extra buzz appeal!
Fun Bug Fact:
Did you know that honey bees communicate with each other through a special dance called the “waggle dance”? They do this to tell other bees where to find flowers! So, don’t forget to do your own little dance when you taste your bee muffins!
Safety Tip:
Make sure an adult helps you with the oven since it can get super hot! Safety first, little honey!
Final Touch:
Get creative! You can add some cute bee stickers or drawings on your muffin wrappers to make them even more special.
