Most people see a small beetle, a large beetle, or something they would prefer to remove from the kitchen. Entomologists see millimeters: body length, pronotum width, wing length, antennal segments, and the tiny structural differences that can separate one species from another. A caliper turns “that one looks bigger” into a measurement another scientist can compare.

How do you become an entomologist?
