🐜🍽️
Complexity Level: Easy (some adult supervision needed)
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a lighter bite!)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for added “ant” flair!)
- Olives (black or green) – for the eyes
- Love and fun (1 generous scoop each) 💖✨
Instructions:
Step 1: "Bugging Out" the Mixture!
Grab a large mixing bowl and combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and that all-important egg! Channel your inner ant, and start mixing with your hands (make sure they're clean!). Remember, ants work better together—so get a buddy to help!
Step 2: Roll Those Meatballs!
Once everything is mixed, take about 2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll it into a ball about the size of a golf ball (or a little ant!). Place your meatball army on a lined baking sheet. You will want a whole colony to satisfy those hungry bellies!
Step 3: The Ants’ March to the Oven
Parent Alert! Now it’s time to preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Adult help is required here! Once preheated, pop those meatballs into the oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they’re cooked through and irresistibly delicious!
Step 4: Eyes on the Prize!
Once your meatballs are golden brown and smelling fantastic, it’s time for the ants to get some eyes! Cut little slices from the olives and stick one on each meatball while they’re still warm. This will help them stay alert and look super cute!
Step 5: Drench in "Ant-Tastic" Sauce
Drizzle some ketchup on the meatballs to mimic an ant trail, because what fun is an ant without the trail? Time to serve these little critters with some spaghetti or alongside your favorite veggies!
Fun Bug Fact:
Did you know that there are over 12,000 species of ants found worldwide? They can lift objects up to 50 times their body weight—impressive! Just like these meatballs can lift your spirits with their deliciousness!
Safety Tip:
When using the oven, be sure to have an adult help you. They’ll help make sure those little meatballs don’t get too carried away and burn!
Final Touch:
Get creative! Lay out the meatballs in the shape of an ant on a platter and have fun decorating with veggies for legs, or even a few extra olives for extra “eyes”!
Take pictures of your bug-tastic creations before they disappear into hungry mouths! Happy baking and let the bug adventures begin! 🐜✨
