Have you ever seen a spider web? They are amazing feats of engineering! Spiders can spin webs in all shapes and sizes. Some spiders even build webs that are underwater!
Spiders use their webs to catch their food. When an insect flies into the web, it gets stuck. The spider can then wrap up the insect in its silk and eat it later.
Spiders are truly incredible creatures!
Eight Legged Wonders!
Did you know that spiders have eight legs? That's a lot of legs for such a small creature! Each leg has special hairs that help the spider to climb and to feel its way around.
Spiders also have eight eyes! That's right, eight! But even with eight eyes, spiders can't see very well. They rely on their other senses, like touch and smell, to find their way around.
Next time you see a spider, don’t be afraid! Take a moment to watch it. You might be surprised by what you see.
