Little Miss Muffet

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey. Along came a spider, who sat down beside her, and frightened Miss Muffet away.

Bugs are cool and amazing?! 🐞

Did you know that spiders are not insects? They are actually arachnids! Spiders have 8 legs and insects have 6 legs. Spiders are super helpful because they eat other bugs that we don’t like in our houses, like mosquitos. Spiders spin webs out of silk that comes out of their body! Would you like to have silk come out of your body?! Spiders are super cool and amazing!

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the waterspout. Down came the rain, and washed the spider out. Out came the sunshine, and dried up all the rain, and the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again.

Did you know that there are over 45,000 different types of spiders?! Some spiders live in water, like the diving bell spider. Some spiders jump, like the jumping spider. Some spiders are really big, like the Goliath Birdeater Tarantula. It can grow to be 11 inches! If you held out your hand, it would be as big as your hand! That’s one BIG spider!

What Are Little Boys Made Of?

What are little boys made of? What are little boys made of? Slugs and snails, and puppy-dogs' tails; That's what little boys are made of.

Did you know that slugs are like snails without shells? Snails carry their homes on their backs! If it gets too hot or too cold or too dry, they can hide in their shells for protection. Slugs and snails are both mollusks, just like an octopus or a clam. Mollusks are soft-bodied invertebrates. Invertebrates are animals without a backbone!

Hey Diddle Diddle

Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon; The little dog laughed to see such sport, and the dish ran away with the spoon.

Did you know that butterflies taste with their feet? Butterflies land on flowers and use their feet to taste the nectar to see if it is yummy. Butterflies also have a long tongue called a proboscis, which is like a straw. They use their proboscis to suck up the nectar from the flower. Nectar is sweet, like sugar!

Five Little Monkeys

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed, One fell off and bumped his head, Mama called the doctor and the doctor said, No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

Did you know that honey bees live in a hive with thousands of other bees? There is a Queen Bee and lots of worker bees. The worker bees go out and collect nectar from flowers and bring it back to the hive where they make honey! Honey bees pollinate flowers, which means they help flowers make seeds to make new flowers! Honey bees are super important!
