Little Miss Muffet

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey. Along came a spider, who sat down beside her…

Bugs are cool and amazing?! 🐞

Miss Muffet was enjoying a delicious snack of curds and whey. Have you ever tried curds and whey? If you like yogurt, you would probably like curds and whey because it's kind of like a cottage cheese or yogurt. Miss Muffet loved it! As she sat on her tuffet (a tuffet is kind of like a little stool) she saw a spider.

Eight Legs?!

Spiders have 8 legs! Can you imagine having 8 legs! That’s a lot of shoes to put on in the morning. Miss Muffet was very curious about the spider. Instead of running away, she asked the spider its name. The spider said “My name is Itsy” and then Itsy the spider spun a web. The web was a beautiful design and Miss Muffet was amazed.

She watched and watched as Itsy the spider spun its web. Itsy was fast! The web was perfectly designed to catch Itsy’s dinner. Itsy told Miss Muffet that it liked to eat flies, mosquitos and sometimes even moths for dinner. Miss Muffet thought that was a little bit yucky but she knew that spiders need to eat too.

Webs are Cool

Did you know that spider webs are super strong? They can even catch little birds sometimes! Webs are very sticky and help the spider to catch its food. Spiders are very helpful because they eat a lot of bugs that can be harmful to people like mosquitos.

Miss Muffet and Itsy the spider became friends and after that day, she was never scared of spiders again.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout. Down came the rain and washed the spider out. Out came the sun and dried up all the rain, and the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again…

Bugs are cool and amazing?! 🐞

The itsy bitsy spider was trying to get home. It was a long climb to the top of the water spout. Spiders are great climbers! They can climb up almost anything. The spider was almost to the top when… whoosh! A gust of wind blew the spider all the way back down to the ground.

Never Give Up

The spider wasn’t going to give up! It started climbing all over again. This time it made it all the way to the top of the water spout. Just then, it started to rain! Oh no! The rain washed the spider all the way back down to the ground again. Poor spider!

After the rain, the sun came out and dried up all the water. The spider felt the warm sun on its back and knew it was time to try and climb the water spout one more time. The spider was determined to make it to the top!

Slowly, slowly, the spider started to climb. It was a long way to the top but the spider didn’t stop. Finally, the spider made it! It climbed over the edge of the water spout and into its home.

Amazing Spiders

Spiders are amazing creatures. They can climb, spin webs and even help us by eating pesky bugs like mosquitos. Next time you see a spider, remember how cool they are!
