The Very Friendly Spider
Have you ever seen a spider up close? They are really quite fascinating! One day, I was playing outside and I noticed the biggest, most beautiful spider I had ever seen! It was spinning a web between two branches on a flowering dogwood tree, and it looked like it was dancing! It moved with such grace as it delicately spun its intricate web.
I sat mesmerized, as I watched it work. I thought to myself - that is one talented spider! I wondered if it knew how talented it really was?
As I continued to observe this hard-working spider, I noticed just how strong it was too! I watched in awe as it effortlessly carried insects many times its size up to its web. I had no idea such a small creature could be so strong!

Have you ever seen a ladybug? They are so cute! I saw the most beautiful ladybug yesterday while I was playing in my backyard. It had an interesting pattern of black dots on its bright red shell! It was so tiny - no bigger than my fingernail!
I sat down in the grass and watched it crawl on a blade of grass. I wondered where it was going. Do ladybugs have homes?
I watched in amazement as it opened its shell and began to fly away. It spread its delicate wings and flew up, up, up into the bright blue sky! It looked so free!
