The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the waterspout. Down came the rain, and washed the spider out. Out came the sun, and dried up all the rain, and the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again.

Have you ever seen a spider web? Maybe in the corner of a window or hanging from a tree branch? Spiders use their webs to catch their food - YUM! Have you ever wondered how a spider makes a web? How do they start? It's pretty cool - first, the spider lets out a single strand of silk that blows in the wind. When it sticks to something - like a tree branch or the corner of a window, that's the start of the web. Next, the spider makes a “Y” shape in the middle of the silk. After that, it keeps adding more and more lines until it looks like a bicycle wheel with spokes. Then it adds more and more circles until it's done. The spider can make a web in about an hour. Now that's fast!
