Little Miss Muffet

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey. Along came a spider, who sat down beside her, and frightened Miss Muffet away.

Bugs are cool and amazing?! 🐞

Muffet was a sweet little girl, with blonde curls and bright blue eyes. She loved being outside, playing with her puppy, Patches, and eating yummy snacks! One day, she was having a picnic with her Mom in the backyard. Mom had packed a delicious lunch of sandwiches and fruit salad! Muffet asked her Mom if she could have a special treat. Mom said YES! So Muffet chose her favorite - curds and whey! She took the bowl of creamy goodness and her spoon, and skipped off to find a comfy spot to sit.

Muffet loved to look at the dandelions that grew wild around her backyard. They looked like little puffs of sunshine! She skipped over to the biggest patch of dandelions and sat down. It was like sitting on a yellow, fluffy cloud! She was so excited to eat her treat! But just as she scooped a big spoonful of curds and whey and put it in her mouth, she felt something tickle her arm! Muffet jumped up and looked down. It was a spider!

Muffet was a little scared! She didn't know what the spider would do! She ran back to her Mom, who gave her a big hug and asked her what was wrong. Muffet told her Mom about the spider that scared her. Mom smiled and said, Muffet, honey, there is no need to be scared. Spiders are our friends! They help us by eating all of the pesky bugs that bother us. They are very helpful. Let's go back and take a closer look at the spider!

Muffet thought about what her Mom said. Her Mom always gave the best advice. Muffet and her Mom walked back to the dandelion patch. The spider was still there. This time, Muffet took a deep breath and got down on her tummy so she could get a closer look at the spider. He really was kinda cute! He had eight legs, two big eyes, and was covered in soft hair. He was just hanging out on his web, waiting for his lunch!

Muffet waved to the spider and said, Hi there! I'm Muffet, what's your name? The spider waved back with one of his legs and said, Hi Muffet, I'm Spindler. Nice to meet you! Muffet and Spindler chatted for a while. Muffet learned that Spindler liked to spin webs, catch bugs to eat, and play hide-and-seek with his brothers and sisters. Muffet told Spindler that she liked to skip, play with Patches, and eat yummy treats, especially curds and whey!

Muffet and Spindler became great friends! After that day, Muffet was never afraid of spiders again. She learned that they are an important part of our world.

What Are Little Boys Made Of?

What are little boys made of? What are little boys made of? Frogs and snails, And puppy-dogs’ tails; That’s what little boys are made of.

Bugs are cool and amazing?! 🐞

Milo was a curious little boy who loved exploring the great outdoors! He especially loved finding bugs! His backyard was his favorite place to explore. It was full of all kinds of creepy crawlies! Milo spent hours each day searching under rocks, logs, and leaves, looking for his little bug friends. He knew that bugs were an important part of the environment, and he wanted to learn as much as he could about them.

One sunny afternoon, Milo was on another one of his bug hunts. He had already found a roly-poly, an earthworm, and a centipede! He was having so much fun! Suddenly, Milo spotted something out of the corner of his eye. It was a bright green caterpillar munching on a leaf! Milo had never seen a caterpillar that color before! He slowly crept up to the caterpillar and sat down next to it. The caterpillar stopped munching on the leaf and looked up at Milo with its big, round eyes.

Hello Mr. Caterpillar, Milo said in a soft voice. My name is Milo. What's your name? The caterpillar didn't say anything. Milo wasn't sure if caterpillars could talk! Milo continued, I really like your bright green color. It's so pretty! The caterpillar seemed to smile at Milo and went back to munching on the leaf.

Milo sat next to the caterpillar for a long time, watching it eat. He wondered where the caterpillar was going and what it would do. As the sun started to set, Milo knew it was time to head inside. He said goodbye to his new caterpillar friend and promised to come back and visit him tomorrow. Milo couldn't wait to learn more about his new friend!
