A Cricket, a Caterpillar, and a Question: Can Anyone Love a Bug?

What did the fly say to the windshield?

“I’m in a real bug jam now!” giggled Freddie the fly. He had just zipped past Olivia, who was trying to catch him in her bug net. “You’ll never catch me,” he buzzed, landing on a giant blade of grass.

Olivia stopped running and giggled. Freddie was right. She put her net down and sat in the grass. “Why do you run away from me, Freddie?” she asked. “I just want to be your friend.”

Freddie buzzed closer. “Why would you want to be friends with an itsy bitsy, tiny bug?” he asked. “Aren’t you scared of me?”

Olivia shook her head. “No way, Freddie! You’re amazing! You have beautiful shiny wings and the coolest eyes ever! Plus, you can walk up walls! How do you do that anyway?” Olivia was super curious.

Freddie felt his worries fly away. Maybe some humans were okay after all. He showed Olivia his sticky feet and even let her hold him gently on her finger.

Bugs are cool and amazing?! Thanks for loving bugs too! 🐞
