From Idea to Bookshelf: A Guide to Creating Your Own Children's Book

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey…

Along came a spider… BUT WHY did Miss Muffet run away?

Did you know that spiders are super cool and actually REALLY helpful? It’s true! They help us by eating lots of pesky insects like flies and mosquitoes. Spiders are kind of like tiny superheroes! They don’t want to hurt anyone, they are just trying to help us out!

There once was a little girl named Lily who was afraid of spiders… until one day… Lily was playing in the park and saw a beautiful web shimmering in the sunlight. It was sparkling with tiny dewdrops and looked like a magical fairy necklace!

As Lily got closer, she saw a small spider working hard to fix a tiny tear in the web. Lily was mesmerized. The spider was so focused and so good at its job! Lily sat and watched the spider for a very long time.

The next day at school, Lily's teacher was talking about all the wonderful things spiders do for us. Lily raised her hand excitedly and told her teacher all about the amazing web she saw the day before at the park.

From that day on, Lily was no longer afraid of spiders. Instead, she would always smile and say hello whenever she saw a spider working hard to keep her family safe from those pesky mosquitoes!
