Delicious Yabby Yogurt Pops Recipe!

If you're scratching your head wondering how yabbies and yogurt could ever be a part of the same recipe, fret not! We’re diving into the whimsical world of bug-themed treats with our Delicious Yabby Yogurt Pops! And before we go any further, rest assured, no real bugs were harmed in the making of this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of Greek yogurt - to create a creamy base that looks like the belly of a yabby
  • 1/2 cup of honey or to taste - giving our yabby pops that sweet edge
  • 1 cup of mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries) - these will serve as our colorful yabby decorations
  • 4-5 drops of blue food coloring (optional) - to give that vibrant yabby blue hue
  • Small edible googly eyes - for the yabby effect
  • Popsicle sticks

Instructions:

  1. Start by blending your Greek yogurt and honey together in a bowl. Ensure that it's nicely mixed and has a smooth consistency.
  2. If you're opting for the blue hue resembling the colorful crustacean, now's the time to add your food coloring. Add one drop at a time, stirring and assessing until you reach your desired shade of yabby blue.
  3. Carefully fold in your mixed berries to the yogurt mixture. The goal is to have them scattered throughout each pop like little jewels or the spots on a yabby's back.
  4. Take your popsicle molds and fill them with the yogurt mixture. Make sure not to overfill; you'll need a tad bit of space for expansion as they freeze. Place a popsicle stick in the center of each mold.
  5. Freeze the molds for at least 4 hours or until the yogurt pops are completely frozen.
  6. Once frozen, gently remove the pops from their molds. You can run a little warm water on the outside of the mold to help release them if necessary.
  7. Now for the final touch, add two edible googly eyes to each pop to bring your yabby treats to life!

And there you have it, Delicious Yabby Yogurt Pops perfect for a fun, themed treat or an amusing addition to any party. Not only are they a blast to make, but they also serve as a refreshing snack on a hot day. Plus, they’re a fantastic way to spark conversations about the fascinating world of bugs and insects.
